Verena Martin

Verena Martin is the CEO of VRG Components, a global B2B electronic distribution business that has successfully grown into a well-established company with over $16 million in annual revenue. A company that she founded with her husband in 2014, VRG Components placed #1426 in Inc. Magazine’s 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in 2018 and has been awarded Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces in 2021.

Within VRG, Verena personally handled all operations, administration, finance, HR, and recruiting for the company’s first five years. Since 2019, she has been working in liaison with an experienced management team to oversee VRG’s sales, purchasing, marketing, accounting, and quality assurance. 

While attending the European Management Academy in Vienna, Austria, Verena took a semester in 1996 to study abroad at Pace University in New York City. She graduated from EMA in 1998, and three years later, she went back to the United States, intending to stay permanently. She returned to  New York City and completed her certificate in magazine publishing from the NYU School of Professional Studies in 2004. 

Verena has over six years of experience in publishing and media in both Austria and New York, as well as five year of experience in executive recruiting. She has worked for Austria’s largest daily newspaper, Kronen Zeitung, the German TV network, RTL Television; and the global multi-media, education, and services company Bertelsmann Inc. 

Verena has also taken on ventures as a solopreneur. In 2011, she founded SouthPark Hypnosis in Charlotte, North Carolina. She operated her own practice for three years, serving as a certified clinical hypnotherapist to assist clients in self-improvement.

Verena takes pride in working as a hands-on leader and a strategic thinker. She is multilingual and values communication to support and understand her team in order to produce the best results. Through all her success, Verena remains passionate about giving back and making a difference. She dedicates herself to encouraging others to pursue their own entrepreneurial endeavors. 

When not running a multi-million dollar company, Verena and her husband are raising their eight-year-old son. With Verena formerly living in Austria and her husband being from Mexico, they are raising him in a trilingual household, speaking Spanish, English, and German, with a focus on embracing other cultures and backgrounds.
